Open Your Heart at Carlsbad Village Yoga Studio
I am feeling rather introspective this month. With this internship, and teaching yoga each week, you begin to observe more with an open heart, or at least that’s been my experience. Those nuances of allowing the brows
to relax, releasing the jaw, relaxing the face muscles and opening your heart in yoga, begin to seep into other spaces of your life. I am at awe of this experience really.
As I write this, I see how yoga takes me to edge and releases me. The sweet release of allowing myself to open my heart and experience joy organically, has been unexpected gift of becoming a yoga teacher. What began as a way to deepen my yoga practice, has allowed me to share more vulnerable spaces in my heart each day.
This studio has many bright yogi souls showing up each week with their hearts open and willing to bend just a bit more than the day before. As the music cues and the yoga class begins, the practitioners begin to reach
within, reminding me of a famous quote,“The longest journey is the journey inwards. Of him who has chosen his destiny, who has started upon his quest for the source of his being,” by -Dag Hammarskjold, Nobel Prize winner.
Open your heart? Yes! Let’s focus on that together. I hope to see you soon!
A new yoga teacher has joined the studio-Andrew Hoffman.
Andrew teaches the 11:30 class on Sundays at the studio. I have had the great fortune to take his class two weeks in a row. If you are looking for that class that will take you to the edge of your practice, (think Iyengar length breaths, adjustments with attention to breath, body precision, while working with concentration to perfect those harder poses) Andrew is a class you cannot miss. Each person that had attended last Sunday showed up once again to tune up their yoga practice with Andrew. His presence as a teacher in that one hour can be felt in each pose, as you secretly hope you are honing in on each adjustment as he walks around helping each of us find our better alignment.
Also, the studio is
selling necklaces/bracelets at the front of the studio to raise proceeds for the Vista Teens Outreach Program. The jewelry is handmade priced under $20.00. All of the money is being given to this wonderful charity that makes sure local teenagers that might be missing a meal, won’t; and for turkeys for Thanksgiving.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. Let’s keep working on opening our hearts so we can discover more joy within and allow ourselves that natural gift of happiness.
